Mike Tyson Lands Himself In The Poor House

Years of irresponsible spending has left former boxer Mike Tyson “poor,” so he’s doing what any professional athlete turned psuedo-celebrity would do: star in a reality show.

Appearing on The View last Friday, Tyson announced that he has taken on a frugal lifestyle with his third wife.

But there’s a silver-lining to every poverty-cloud, so before Tyson finds himself panhandling on skid row, viewers will be able to see him on a new reality show about raising and racing pigeons, titled “Taking on Tyson.” The show has already drawn criticism from PETA. The organization says the show promotes animal cruelty by forcing the birds to race for sport.

Also, Tyson is liable to punch apart the pigeons mid-air if they don’t win.

Taking on Tyson will air in early 2011 on the Animal Planet.
